A Warm Embrace 2019
‘A Warm Embrace’ is a series of five handmade quilts sewn in the traditional fashion, assembled in the form of a safe haven to further enhance the interpretation of ‘comfort’. with provocative and allusive text, challenging conventional understandings of femininity. The work explores the associations of femininity, textiles and comfort, whilst engaging with the inherent guilt that emerges from these connotations and portraying my own personal experience with these emotions. The duality of the quilt, text and the way each has been structured opens a discussion about the unrealistic binary between Feminism and femininity; also symbolizing the dichotomy between a woman’s public and private life.

'That's Not Practical' 2019
That’s Not Practical engages with the notion of cute and the grotesque, whilst making witty commentary on cute, feminine indulgences. The use of pastel colours and phallic shapes alludes to the notion of the adorable within the grotesque, attempting to celebrate such satisfying self-care. Installed with fairy floss to encompass the toys in a pretty and playful manner, whilst also allowing for the best angle of the work.

'Tender Companionship' 2019
Tender Companionship explores the relationship formed between humans and animals and the purity we can learn from them. It is a series of 4 framed screenprints and approximately 6 ink drawings, depicting the artists own rabbits, whilst exploring with negative space, shapes and colours. The screenprints are printed onto homemade print, consisting of recycled paper and rabbit fur, tying back to the close, affectionate connection between humans and animals. The prints engage with colours and various shapes, to experiment with and demonstrate the interactions these have with each other. With these differing interactions, the artist aims to showcase our various perceptions of animals in society.

THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME 2017 – series of 4 screen prints, 51cm x 44.6cm
The Trip of a Lifetime consists of 4 autobiographical screen prints based off my psychedelic truffles experience in Amsterdam. The series explores colours; how they engage with each other and create emotions. The printing technique, of a spilt fountain seen in the background of all the prints, as well as the psychedelic, whirly twirly background, are evocative of the free flowing nature of the experience. Whilst screen printing for hours I slowly discovered my printing style, as you can see in the progression of the prints.
